Recently, there has been a significant increase in the number of natural gas distribution facilities for motor vehicles in Italy. Thanks to the drop in the price of natural gas, the now well-known TTF – Title Transfer Facility (the reference index used to determine natural gas prices in the European market), these outlets are growing in number, with new plants being opened and other plants reopening after closing due to the disproportionate cost of the raw material. These positive signs show a clear recovery in the industry and offer confidence going forward.

Behind this renewed and positive trend is a fact: natural gas is currently the least polluting fuel available to motorists. Moreover, the use of biomethane can further reduce CO2 emissions by up to 120% compared to diesel, enabling a negative environmental balance to be achieved. We are therefore talking about a choice that is environmentally friendly and, at the same time, considers the pockets of consumers. Currently, the average price of CNG at the pump in Emilia-Romagna is about 1.40 euros/kg, while the average price of gasoline is about 1.80 euros/liter. This means that consumers can already embrace environmentally friendly conduct for their travels and at the same time can save up to 35-40% compared to using gasoline!

In addition to automotive use, its versatility and increasing availability make CNG an attractive choice for a variety of applications as an energy source for industrial and domestic plants.

Herein lies the explanation for what we have called the “revenge of methane gas,” which stems from the indisputable and virtuous coexistence of energy efficiency, reduced environmental impact, and significant cost savings. CNG’s current and future potential make it a smart choice for those seeking a sustainable and truly affordable alternative to gasoline, diesel and the (still in development) electric.

Once again, this year GRAF Group sponsored the now traditional concert held in Tashkent on the third of June, organized by the Italy-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (CIUZ) with the support of the Italian Embassy in Uzbekistan.

The aim was to promote the interchange between the two countries not only in trade and industry, but also in culture, music, art and academia, with the active support of Italian and Uzbek institutions.

Hydrogen Expo 2023 (II edition) has recently ended. It’s Italy largest convention on the technological development of the hydrogen supply-chain.

GRAF Gastech participated at the event and has received much attention and interest from the public. During the convention’s three days, our stand was visited by many guests, suppliers related to the whole landscape of hydrogen-related products, material, gaskets and seals analyzers, tubular makers, and something more particular like chiller and electrolysers makers.

This helped creating a dynamic and stimulant environment that allowed us to make our technology and our hydrogen sector products known and evaluate possible collaborations.

During the event we had the pleasure to know several potential customers interested in our products.

Information requests and technical questions about the hydraulic compressor and the hydrogen dispenser show the growing interest towards GRAF Gastech technology and the desire to better understand the hydrogen industry by exploring the best investment opportunities. Governments are dedicating their attention to this technology (e.g., with the positive influence of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan – PNRR – in Italy) which, as an effect, is stimulating further the hydrogen sector opening new growth and development opportunities. From this perspective, GRAF Gastech’s pioneering role really fueled the participation and curiosity of all participants.

Providing all the answers in the field was our team of Gianni Baroni, Salvatore Mormile, Giovanni Serafini and Lorenzo Sprea, who, with their usual expertise, guided visitors through GRAF Gastech’s hydrogen world. 1000 bar on the delivery side, a value indicated for systems that require a high flow rate or that start from relatively low inlet pressures or are fed by electrolysers. It was also possible to see our DH2 dispenser live, which is equipped with totally in-house made electronics and capable of supplying both heavy vehicles at 350 bar and light vehicles at 700 bar with a SAE J2601 compliant supply protocol.

We are happy to note that the feedback we have received from suppliers and potential customers has been extremely positive, a sign that the effort put into presenting our two flagship products in the hydrogen sector has enabled us to successfully convey the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our technology.

In conclusion, the experience at Hydrogen Expo 2023 reinforced our belief in the enormous potential of hydrogen as a clean and sustainable energy source. Certainly, a viable energy source in combination with others, to diversify the energy supply of countries. We are proud to be part of and pioneers in this energy revolution, and we are ready to continue innovating to lead the change towards a better future.

GRAF Gastech was one of the main protagonists at the 25th International “Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference – OGU 2023” that was held at Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from the 18th to the 20th of May.

The expectations were not disappointed, and we are proud to share our public success. From the first day, during the official opening ceremony, Uzbekistan’s delegates joined us.

It has been a great honor to receive Agostino Pinna, the Italian ambassador, and his assistants, which have been entertained at GRAF Gastech stand by Mario Mormile, CEO of the company. During the day we had the possibility of meeting some of Uzbekistan’s Ministry for Energy and discuss with them the next years strategic plans.

The second day was dedicated to networking between industry professionals and companies, which could meet up, debate, and establish relationships for their business development. During the night, an event has been organized in one of the most notorious Tashkent’s hotels, which helped us grow our presence in the local market.

The last day was addressed to people from the business sector, journalists, bloggers, and students, and that proves that the OGU 2023 exhibition had a great impact.

The GRAF Gastech stand experienced 3 particularly dynamic days that allowed us to make new business contacts and meet our customers on the spot. The visitors’ eyes have been caught by CNG Compressors and alternative energies plants, like solar panels and battery chargers for electric vehicles – and that shows that in Uzbekistan those technologies are increasingly considered.

In addition to other motives, OGU 2023 allowed GRAF to strengthen herself in the field of clean and sustainable energy sector. We are ready to face the future challenges that will allow Uzbekistan and the World to grow and develop sustainably.

GRAF Gastech, a business unit of GRAF Industries, engaged in the design and manufacture of systems for the compression, distribution and dispensing of compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG) and hydrogen, will participate in HYDROGEN EXPO, the first exhibition and conference in Italy completely dedicated to the hydrogen technology sector.

The event that takes place the second year round, will be held at the exhibition centre of Piacenza, from the 17th to the 19th of May and will bring together the entire supply chain for the production, distribution and supply of hydrogen, which today represents a concrete source of sustainable energy as it can be produced using renewable energy sources and then transported, stored and used as a gas.

GRAF Gastech will present its hydrogen know-how and product range at the exhibition and conference.

The exhibition “Oil and Gas of Uzbekistan” is the main annual event of the oil and gas sector, which traditionally takes place in May in the city of Tashkent. In 2022, there were almost 9,000 visitors, 16 countries represented and 173 companies participated.

GRAF GASTECH took part in the event as part of a collective platform organized by CIUZ – the Chamber of Commerce of Italy and Uzbekistan.

CIUZ President, Engineer Giorgio Veronese, Head of Representative Office Oibek Irgashev and Acting Italian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Agostino Pinna personally visited our stand and showed great interest in the products, produced by our company.

In addition to numerous Italian guests, the GRAF GASTECH stand was visited by representatives of local businesses and various government organizations. During these meetings, both basic equipment and new developments for alternative fuels were presented, plans were made for future cooperation with local companies and negotiations were made to conclude new supply contracts.

This year, the exhibition “Oil and Gas of Uzbekistan” once again confirmed its both productive and beneficial value for GRAF GASTECH.
